Arrestee Escapes Police Custody In Philadelphia: Police
City police are looking for a man who escaped the back of a squad car in Philadelphia on Monday morning, May 13, authorities say. Nafiysh Knox-Schenck, 32, was arrested on a warrant for alleged Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, PPD said. A gun was recovered during his arrest, according to officials. After he was placed in a police car on West Collum Street, an "unknown person" opened the door and he escaped, the department said. A 44-year-old Plainfield man was arrested in Pennsylvania on Friday, May 10 and charged with a fatal stabbing at a train station in July 2023, authorities said. A suspect is in custody for the gunpoint robbery of an Allentown convenience store on Friday, May 10, according to police. A Phoenixville man is charged with strangulation and assault in Spring City, police said in a release. Authorities said Jonathan Schierenback "dragged" a juvenile victim "across the street by her neck" near the 2 East Bridge Street Turkey Hill on May 8. Multiple witnesses tried to break them up, according to authorities. Police said the victim "did have visible physical injuries and the event caused the juvenile to not be able to breathe."
