Haber, who was nominated by District Clerk Tracey Borges, Superintendent of Schools Deborah O’Connell and Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School Principal Michael Plotkin, was chosen from among nominees submitted by school districts in a seven-county region served by the Mid-Hudson School Study Council.

Haber will be honored at a dinner on Oct. 18 in New Windsor. More than 800 people attended the Council’s 2017 dinner.

The Mid-Hudson School Study Council awards recipients each year in the categories of school board service, teaching, support staff, administrators and pupil personnel services. The Council’s goal is to improve education in school districts located in the Mid-Hudson Valley by studying common educational problems, sharing educational practices, and encouraging the active participation of school boards, administrators, teachers, pupils, and community members in educational planning and activity.
