Three Briarcliff HS Seniors Earn National Merit Finalist Status

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Three Briarcliff High School seniors have been recognized as finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corp.

“Congratulations to Emma Burns, Feroze Mohideen and Sabine Poux for qualifying as semifinalists in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship competition,” said BHS Principal Debora French. "“These academically talented seniors have an opportunity to continue the competition for some 7,400 National Merit scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered in the spring."

The three seniors are among about 16,000 semifinalists across the nation. They scored among the highest in the state and in the top one percent nationally on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in 2014.
