Founded in 1974, William Raveis Real Estate, which has 120 offices and over 4,000 agents in multiple states, nabbed the fourth-place finish with $439 million in sales last year. William Raveis Legends Realty Group, founded in 2007 by five women; Marcene Hedayati, Elvira Aloia, Mary Case Friedner, Phyllis Lerner and Karen Stroub, earned number 9 on the list with over $162 million earned.
William Raveis Real Estate is the eighth largest independently owned firm in the country, with seven offices in Westchester.
“We just grind away at markets,” said William Raveis, the CEO of the firm, which has 199 agents in throughout Westchester.
William Raveis Real Estate has succeeded in reinventing its storefront offices, including the newly redesigned, $1 million Scarsdale office. "Gone are rows of cubicles," said Raveis. "In their place is bench seating that resembles a Starbucks within the branch, with couches, chairs and lattes.”
Though William Raveis Real Estate is relatively new to Westchester, the family-owned business has seen enough growth to be optimistic for the future.
William Raveis Legends Realty Group, an affiliate and independently owned, has four offices in the Rivertown with approximately 80 agents.
Rounding out the top ten brokerages in Westchester is William Raveis Legends Realty Group, an affiliate and independently owned. The firm, which is the result of a 2011 merger, was ranked ninth and poised to climb higher. This past November, the group purchased Hudson Homes Sotheby’s International Realty, a 15-agent firm headquartered in Tarrytown.
