Police: Briarcliff Man Struck, Killed By Drunk Driver In Ossining

OSSINING, N.Y. -- A 55-year-old Briarcliff Manor man was struck and killed by a drunken driver Tuesday night in Ossining, police said. 

Michelle Sergio of Nanuet was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, for reportedly striking and killing a Briarcliff Manor man in Ossining Tuesday night.

County police responded to the intersection at 10:15 p.m. after a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a car, County police spokesman Kieran O'Leary said in an emailed report. 

The pedestrian, a 55-year-old Briarcliff Manor man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report. The man was reportedly crossing Route 9A from the northeast corner of the intersection when he was struck by a Nissan Altima that was traveling north on Route 9A. 

The driver of the Altima, Michelle Sergio of Nanuet, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. The accident remained under investigation, O'Leary said. Sergio was held overnight pending an arraignment in Ossining Town Court. 

Further information was expected to be released by Wednesday afternoon.
