YORKTOWN, N.Y. – On Tuesday, New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks arrested 31-year-old Ryan M. Schuka, of Cortlandt Manor, for driving while ability impaired by drugs, a Class D Felony.
Troopers were dispatched to assist a disabled vehicle located on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Yorktown. Upon the troopers arrival, they observed a vehicle off of the roadway and in a wooded area, police said.
An investigation conducted at the scene revealed that Schuka struck a guardrail before exiting the roadway, according to the police. While police interviewed Schuka, they observed clues that indicated he was impaired.
Schuka was charged with Felony DWAI when a criminal history revealed that he was convicted of a DWI-related offense within the previous 10 years.
Schuka posted station bail and was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Yorktown Court on Thursday, Nov. 5.
