Congregation Sons Of Israel Starts Community Garden

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Connecting with the community and the earth are two reasons the Congregation Sons of Israel is creating a new community organic garden on Pleasantville Road in Briarcliff Manor.

The Congregation Sons of Israel will be starting a community organic garden in June. Residents and community members welcome.

Currently under construction, the organic garden will offer space to both members of the congregation and to local community members to grow fruits and vegetables for personal use, for sale at the CSI Sunday Organic Market and for contribution to local organizations in need.

Organizers also hope the garden will foster a better understanding and exposure between the congregation and the community including local groups and organizations.

The plots should be up and ready for planting by early June. Community members interested in taking part should visit the congregation's website for more details.

The Congregation Sons of Israel is at 1666 Pleasantville Road.
