The new Comfort Station will be open for use starting this Saturday, May 21. All sports fields/playing areas will be open for this weekend. With fickle weather expected this weekend, be sure to check with your coach to confirm each day’s activities.

We have completed the pool and pool deck restoration at Law Park Pool. Opening Day remains scheduled for Monday, May 30, after the Memorial Day parade and Law Park ceremonies. The village has settled on a “food wagon” vendor to provide food services during pool hours.

The formal dedication and open house of our Community Center will immediately follow the American Legion/Briarcliff Manor Fire Department-sponsored May 30 Memorial Day ceremonies. The Community Center will be named after former village Mayor William J. Vescio. Further details and additional information regarding the occasion will be forthcoming.

Consolidated Edison work marches on as the protracted, high pressure gas main replacement project continues. The utility has also been directed to “re-set” noisy road plates that have shifted over time. The road plates are in place largely to facilitate two main project components: the valve interconnections of the main lines and the replacement connections to individual residences and facilities.

Separately, the village is working with Con Ed on a program to jointly pay for a full pavement restoration of disturbed roads after construction settlement.

Majestic Mosaics, an art exhibit by Pauline Rockett-Dietz featuring beautifully crafted images of cityscapes, portraits, animal studies and more, will be on display on the second floor of the library through May 31.

The water department has said that there will be hydrant or transmission main flushing in the coming week.

Day camp registration for the 2016 season is still open on a space-available basis only. We have extended and waived late fees through Monday, May 23, to accommodate late comers. Understand, however, that certain individual camp groups and weeks of attendance have already filled up, so please contact the Recreation Department to see what is still available.

The 2016 Camp season runs from July 5, through August 5. Residents may register for the full, five-week season or any three or four weeks of their choice. For details visit the Recreation Department page of the village website.

The 2016 Spring/Summer Recreation Brochure is available on the village website. Summer registration is underway, and our 2016 Pool and Tennis permits are on sale. Detailed information is available online.
