With last week’s monsoon, the Club Field was closed late last week due to playing field saturation. Therefore, they postponed the opening of Comfort Station until Saturday, May 14. The Mayor and Members of the Board Of Trustees hope to join residents when this facility is opened next week.

The formal dedication and open house of the Community Center will be immediately after the American Legion and Briarcliff Manor Fire Department sponsored Memorial Day ceremonies on Monday, May 30. The Mayor and Board Of Trustees announced that the Community Center will be named after former Mayor William J. Vescio.

The restoration of the pool and pool deck facilities at Law Park and Pavilion has been completed. The pool is ready for the annual Memorial Day opening. They are near complete in the selection of “food wagon” vendors to provide food services during pool hours.

The ongoing Con Edison gas main replacement along Pleasantville Road continues. While there has been posted information and numerous advisories, reports and updates whether here or otherwise for months, here’s the latest. They have several grants in the offing to repave and update those portions of owned Pleasantville Road stretch to the South State Road intersection and then from North State Road to Orchard Road. The Village only owns Pleasantville Road from the bump out to North State Road. They have delayed the repaving and curb and sidewalk work to allow Con Ed to replace the current gas mains with high pressure gas mains and provide natural gas to a growing number of new customers. Their position is to purposely hold off on road work to make sure that Con Ed’s work is done first just as we did was done with water main updates last year.
