Annual 5K Run, Two Mile Walk Set For Ossining
OSSINING, N.Y. - -It's become a back to school tradition in Ossining. Ossining Matters is hosting its 15th annual 5K run/two-mile walk on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 9 a.m. The event benefits Ossining Matters, a not-for-profit education foundation that raises funds for the Ossining School District. Runners begin at the Main Street Post Office, while walkers start at the Double Arches. VALHALLA, N.Y. -- It's going to be a day filled with Jewish music. The 43rd Annual Westchester Jewish Music and Arts Festival will be held on Sunday, Aug. 20 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. The festival is presented by The Westchester Jewish Council and The Westchester Klezmer Program in cooperation with Westchester County Parks. SPCA Hoping To Clear The Shelter
The SPCA has more dogs and cats than usual, but are hoping a one-day event can help their animals find forever homes. The SPCA is taking part in NBC's Clear the Shelters on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its Briarcliff location at 590 North State Road. The Hudson Valley will be full of hot air balloons this weekend.The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival from Friday, July 7 to Sunday, July 9 with more than 80 launches between Friday and Sunday.
