Shoppers Brace for Predicted Early Snow

OSSINING, N.Y. – With forecasts of four to eight inches of wet snow for Saturday, Debbie Murphy was out shopping at CVS for milk and bread on Friday.

"If I'm in and everyone is inside, I don't care," said Murphy, who lives in Eastchester. "But years ago I lived in Carmel and when it snowed in early October when the leaves were still on the trees, the trees fell on power lines and we were out of power for two weeks."

Guy Kongo of Ossining was at CVS buying laundry detergent to wash his winter jacket on Friday. He said the early winter weather caught him by surprise.

"I remember one year we were expecting snow but we didn't have it and it was close to Christmas," he said. "I wish it would come later, but what can you do?"

For Rosemary Rosemary, any weather brought by Mother Nature was okay with her.

"Everything's fine. We have to respect Mother Nature and say, 'thank you' for what we have," she said.
