Tappan Zee Constructors (TZC) is scheduled to re-stripe the westbound lanes near the new bridge beginning on Friday night, Jan. 19 requiring lane closures on I-87 and I-287.

One left lane is scheduled to be closed at 8 p.m. on Friday night, with an additional lane closed each hour. Two lanes will be opened up by 6 a.m. on Saturday morning, with all lanes open no later than 11 a.m.

The closed lanes will affect motorists traveling between exit 9 and exit 10. Motorists can expect delays.

According to TZC, due to the recent winter weather and long-range forecasts, the company will limit construction operations for the next several weeks effective on Friday, citing “the safety of TZC personnel and the ability to make meaningful construction progress. During this time, TZC will maintain essential personnel to ensure the safety and security of the project site.”
