Sleepy Hollow's Ervasti Heads To Met Senior Golf

ELMSFORD, N.Y. – Sleepy Hollow Country Club's John Ervasti, the lone amateur to win the Metropolitan Golf Association's Senior Open, will be one of the featured players in the 16th edition of the tournament Monday and Tuesday at Garden City Country Club on Long Island.

Ervasti, who won his Met Open in 2010, will join several other prominent Westchester area golfers including Westchester Country Club's Bruce Zabriski, Bill Britton of Trump National and Joe Sommers of Winged Foot Golf Club.

Other former champions seeking to join the ranks of two-time winners are Zabriski (2007)  and Ed Whitman (2004) of Knickerbocker.

The Met Senior Golf event includes golfers 50 and older. The field of 168 golfers will play the Garden City Country Club’s 6,559-yard, par-70 course.
