WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Eight teams remain in the Section 1 Class B boys basketball playoffs as they move into  quarterfinals this week.

Top-seeded Briarcliff will host No. 9 North Salem in one of the four quarterfinal games. The Bears defeated Irvington, 63-42, in the opening round, while North Salem beat Pawling, 74-57.

Fourth-seeded Dobbs Ferry hosts No. 5 Woodlands, which squeaked past Rye Neck by three points in the first round. The Eagles defeated Pleasantville, 67-56, in the opening round.

Eleventh-seeded Blind Brook knocked off No. 6 Valhalla, 52-40, in the first round and will try to pull off another upset when it faces No. 3 Our Lady of Lourdes. The Warriors routed No. 14 Bronxville, 65-38, in the opening round.

Finally, No. 10 Edgemont will try to upset No. 2 Putnam Valley in the fourth quarterfinal game. Edgemont knocked out Croton-Harmon, 58-45, in the first round, while the Tigers survived against No. 15 Hastings, 44-39. Putnam Valley won its first playoff game in school history.
