Pleasantville Panthers On Prowl For High School's 1st State Football Title

The Pleasantville High School varsity football team is heading to Syracuse, seeking its first state championship on Sunday, Nov. 26.

The Panthers face Chenango Forks of Binghamton in the Section B title game, which begins at noon at Syracuse University's Carrier Dome. Snow is already sticking in the Salt City, but green-and-white clad visitors will enjoy the heated climes at Carrier Dome.

Pleasantville Coach Tony Beccera's varsity football squad defeated Glens Falls, 20-7, in Middletown in a semifinal playoff thriller to advance to the state championship game. Panther quarterback Jack Howe, a PHS junior shined in Saturday's game as did Nick Salzarulo on defense, with 13 tackles and one sack. 

Sunday's playoff game will be broadcast live by Spectrum, formerly Time Warner, but you have to be a subscriber. Here's the link with the game schedule:
