PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. Pace Universitys womens basketball team has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
The Setters are the No. 4 seed in the East Region and will face fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce on Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the opening round. It will be the 16th trip to the tournament for Pace and the tenth for Coach Carrie Seymour in her 20 seasons at the University.
Pace finished the season as the No. 3 seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament. They beat sixth-seeded Assumption College in the first round, 60-50, but lost in the semifinals in a heartbreaker, 48-47, to Southern Connecticut State.
In the rest of the East Region, top-seeded Bentley, the host school, will face No. 8 University of District of Columbia. The winner of that game will go up against the winner of the Pace-Franklin Pierce matchup.
No. 2 Southern Connecticut State will take on No. 7 Long Island University-C.W. Post, while No. 3 Dowling College will face No. 6 Holy Family University.
