Pace Rebounds With Second Win Against C.W. Post

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace’s baseball team has faced C.W. Post twice during the Setters' road trip to Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.

The Setters (6-5) beat C.W. Post (6-7) again with a 10-4 victory on Thursday that included a nine-run sixth inning for Pace.

Pace and C.W. Post each scored a run in the first and third innings, respectively, but the bulk of the scoring came in the sixth. Chris Roemer scored on a wild pitch to untie the game and Joe Lombardi drove in two more runs with a single.

Bobby Horn drew a walk with the bases loaded to bring in one more run, and Kyle Turnier added an RBI single of his own. James Pjura ended the scoring with a sacrifice fly to drive Roemer across home plate for the second time in the inning.

C.W. Post scored three times in the eighth but did not get any closer.

Roemer finished 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored and an RBI, while Pjura went 2-for-2 with one run scored and one RBI.

Jonathan Chudy pitched three innings for Pace and allowed one run on three hits with three strikeouts. Robert Perez pitched one and two-thirds innings and gave up two hits. Edward Byrne (1-1) hurled three and one-third innings and allowed three runs on three hits with four strikeouts. Tom McIntosh pitched the final inning and retired the side.

Pace continues its stay at Rollins College with a game Friday at 11 a.m. against Bentley University.
