PTSA G01-02 defeated the Long Island-based Levittown Supersonics 3-2 in the championship match. The NY Cup is a year-long tournament open to the best premier youth soccer teams in New York. PTSA G01-02 went undefeated with six wins in the state-wide tournament, which started last September 2014.

PTSA’s defense was led by Briarcliff Manor’s Bridget Richer, co-captain Maya Celaj, and Karina Zielinski; Paige Dalyrymple of Chappaqua; Jenna Daly of Mahopac; and Lily Laredo of Somers. Forwards were led by team co-captain Isabelle Tola of Ossining; Hailey Dubbioso of North Salem, who had a hat trick in the final game; and Taylor Macca of Tarrytown. The midfield was led by Sophie Bradbury and Maddie Adler of Chappaqua; Callie Derechin of Sleepy Hollow; and Erin Daly of Mahopac.

“This is an amazing accomplishment for this talented bunch girls who have some entering high school in a few months. This is our club’s first state championship and it is wonderful to personally have coached state championship teams at both the high school and club levels. These girls have worked very hard and their teamwork achieved their dream,” said Owen Scully, academy director and Briarcliff girls varsity head coach.

Additionally, PTSA had its GU12 team also make the NY State Cup Finals in Long island and they were defeated 3-2 by Brooklyn-based Saba Academy in a close game, finishing runner-up and finalist.

“PTSA GU12 showed amazing heart and resilience in coming back from being down three goals against the tough Brooklyn team. They should hold their heads up high with their finalist finish and be proud of their efforts," said Scully.

PTSA has a final week of league games and are poised for top league finishes to end the year.
