Junior Pennacchio had an outstanding spring track season, setting five individual and three relay school records. At states, she won the 3,000-meter race in the DII competition, closing a gap of more than 15 seconds in the last lap. Her final time was 10:13.01. She also earned numerous accolades, including All-State honors during the fall cross-country season and set more school records during the winter track season.

Pennacchio and sophomore Jack Zimmerman both qualified to compete in the New York State Championship on June 12. Zimmerman also set three school records this season and finished 12th place overall in the DII shot put state competition with a throw of 42’ 5.75” in Albany.

“Both Caroline and Jack had outstanding spring track seasons, each establishing themselves in Briarcliff High School’s record books,” said coach Sean Ryan. “Caroline and Jack are two of the hardest workers we have ever coached. They have proven many times how hard work drives results.”
