BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. – Briarcliff High School boys’ basketball player Brian Daniels is The Briarcliff Daily Voice Student-Athlete of the Month for December.
Daniels has led the Bears to a 5-0 record to start the season and has positioned Briarcliff as one of the top contenders in Class B. The Bears’ big man was instrumental in several of Briarcliff’s wins, including a one-point victory against Rye High School.
When the Bears and Garnets met on Dec. 18, Daniels pulled down an offensive rebound with 15 seconds left and then hit an eventual game-winning shot to give Briarcliff a 45-44 win.
Daniels followed up that performance with a team-high 18 points in a 71-49 rout of rival Pleasantville High School.
The senior leads Briarcliff in scoring with 17.2 points per game.
