Ossining School District Budget Passes

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Voters in the Ossining School District approved the 2015-2016 budget Tuesday.

The budget passed 1,106 votes to 405 votes. Felix Flores and Maria Fernandez-Williams ran unopposed for two seats on the Board of Education.

Ossining's $117.2 million budget increases spending 2.3 percent and increases the tax levy 2.9 percent. Voters in Ossining will see a 3 percent tax increase, voters in New Castle will see a 1 percent tax decrease and voters in Yorktown will see a 7.5 percent tax increase.

The Ossining library budget was approved 1,090 votes to 385 votes.
