Nine Westchester Schools Are Listed As Failing In State Rankings

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Nine Westchester public schools -- eight in Yonkers and one in Mount Vernon -- are listed as failing by the state.

The following are the Yonkers schools:

  • Cross Hill Academy 
  • Roosevelt High School
  • Robert C. Dodson School
  • Community School 13
  • The Scholastic Academy for Academic Excellence
  • Museum School 25
  • The Enrico Fermi School For the Performing Arts
  • Martin Luther King Junior High Technical Computer Magnet School.

In Mount Vernon, A.B. Davis Middle School was listed as failing. 

All of the Yonkers schools categorized as "failing" have been on the list for at least four years, including the Roosevelt High School and Cross Hill Academy, who have been failing for 10 years, according to the state rankings. 

Davis Middle School in Mount Vernon has been on the failing list for four years as well.
