Maryrose Wood, a children’s author who also utilizes her acting experience to create improvisational exercises, led a professional vocal warm-up for the students.
Wood then discussed different elements of her “Ashton Place” books, including that wolves raised humans and the plots occur in Victorian-era England.
She also led students in an improv storytelling session.
“They are such passionate readers at this age, and it’s important for them to see themselves as empowered,” Wood said in a press release. “They have done an amazing job telling stories.”
