The Pittsburgh, Pa., company also ranked another nine private schools in the county on its top 100 list.

Here are the  four schools and their niche.com rankings:

  • Rye Country Day School, Rye, fifth place.
  • Hackley School, Tarrytown, eighth place.
  • The French-American School of New York (FASNY), which has campuses in Scarsdale, Larchmont and Mamaroneck, 16th place
  • Montfort Academy in Mount Vernon, 19th place.

Niche.com, which said it looked at 3,880 high schools, based its rankings on key student statistics and more than 120,000 opinions from 16,000 students and parents.

A high ranking indicates that the school is an exceptional academic institution with a diverse set of high-achieving students who rate their experience very highly, niche.com said.

The full rankings can be found online here.

According to media reports, the White Plains Common Council recently voted down FASNY’s proposal to build a new campus at the former Ridgeway Country Club. FASNY had planned to consolidate its three campuses into one K-12 school, media reports said.

FASNY has threatened to take the Common Council to court over the defeat of the plan, according to lohud.com.
