On Jan. 21, “Our Todd volunteer group worked with donated foods received by the Food Bank from various drives,” said Todd teacher- librarian Tara Phethean.
The group’s efforts included checking the donated cans and boxes for expiration dates, as well as sorting and boxing the food for distribution.
“It was gracious of these ladies to take two hours from their busy day to work, and it was fun to do some good together,” said Phethean.
The Food Bank for Westchester serves more than 265 local hunger-relief programs throughout Westchester, including food pantries, soup kitchens, child and adult day-care centers and shelters. The Food Bank provides 95 percent of all the food given to hungry families, children and seniors as cooked meals or groceries to take home.
