Briarcliff Students Earn First Place At Westchester Engineering Expo

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Briarcliff Middle School’s Science and Engineering Team, Toy Squad, earned a first-place finish at the Westchester Engineering Expo at White Plains High School on April 3.

“The kids did a fantastic job of making a machine out of toys that opened an umbrella in 11 steps,” said team adviser Jodi Shearer.

The team competed in the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest (Division II, Middle School Level) and accepted its first-place award from Goldberg’s granddaughter.
