Briarcliff Schools Closed Monday For Hurricane Sandy

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y – The Briarcliff Manor School District canceled school for Monday in light of Hurricane Sandy's projected path.  The district issued the emergency closing Sunday due to the impending forecast.

In addition to classes, all after-school activities were cancelled as well as all out of district transportation, the district said on its website.

School administrators said they will continue to monitor the weather forecast and provide updates throughout the day on Monday.

According to the latest projections, Hurricane Sandy is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall into New York late Sunday or early Monday, with the bulk of the storm slamming the region early Tuesday.
