BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Students, teachers and parents all went to the Briarcliff High School gymnasium to contribute to the National Honor Society’s annual blood drive.

The blood drive was held Nov. 5, in the afternoon and evening, which coincided with the end of the school day and parent-teacher conferences -- drawing in both of those groups to donate.

“I think it’s important to donate because for most people, one pint of blood isn’t much, but it can be the difference for saving a life,” said senior Paul Radovanovich, who serves as co-vice president of Briarcliff High School’s National Honor Society.

Radovanovich said he has donated twice himself and encouraged his peers to consider for the cause as well.

“We were very excited to collect 85 pints of red blood cells and whole blood cells (for the New York Blood Center),” said club adviser Kevin Courtney.
