"This is a unique opportunity for educators," said Principal Debora French.

French also noted that Board of Education Vice President Jan Fisher had been instrumental in bringing the course to BHS through her work with the Westchester Jewish Community Services.

Seventy faculty members and teaching assistants took the course, under the guidance of with certified trainers, on Sept. 1 and 2. They learned how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance-use disorders in youths.
