The evening included a welcome from dance teacher Diane Guida and remarks from Superintendent of Schools James Kaishian, who spoke about the school’s journey to reinvent the dance program as an educational asset to the school and district.

Following Kaishian’s remarks, Briarcliff Friends of the Arts Co-president Heidi Roth offered praise to the program and dancers as the evening’s guest speaker. Finally, attendees enjoyed an audio-visual presentation leading up to the inductees’ pledge and receipt of pins and certificates that marked their induction.

"I am very proud of the inductees and their quest to go beyond mere entertainment and to see and utilize dance as an art form for expression and service,” said Guida. “The support from the district, Mr. Kaishian, [Briarcliff High School Principal] Mrs. [Debora] French and the Briarcliff Friends of the Arts is quite unique in this region, and I am grateful."
