Hastings Celebrates Hudson River Despite Laser-Show Dud

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- More than 2,000 people celebrated the Hudson River on Saturday despite the failure of a planned laser-light show during  the "Lights Festival" at MacEachron Park on the Hastings-on-Hudson waterfront.

The laser light show did not live up to expectations, but visitors celebrated the Hudson River with a waterfront festival in Hastings.

Produced by the Hastings Phoenix Foundation in association with the Hastings Chamber of Commerce, Hastings Alumni Association, and Hastings Friday Night Live, the "Lights Festival" celebrated the Hudson River with food, music and lights.

The laser-light show was expected to be displayed on the Palisades directly across from the park, but technicians could not get the laser system to work.

Otherwise, the crowds enjoyed food and drinks from local vendors as children held lighted balloons and watched a light show in the park area.
