? Fairfield’s Representative Town Meeting is preparing to make cuts in its budget vote Monday, but as of last week there were no specific proposals announced. First Selectman Michael Tetreau did come out with a pair of changes Friday that he said wouldn’t impact town-run services.
? In other town government news, the Board of Selectmen has started talks on the school board’s plans to expand and repair parts of Fairfield Ludlowe High School. On Wednesday the selectmen decided to put off their vote on the $11.6 million proposal until May 15.
? Fairfield’s football fields might be safer next fall, as Fairfield Junior Football announced a partnership with USA Football to pilot the “Heads Up” program to reduce the risk of concussions. The Fairfield Giants teams will implement the system in the 2013 season.
? Fairfield Police are still investigating the kidnapping and robbery involving employees of Lenox Jewelers last month. On Monday they released photos from security cameras at the scene that show the suspects entering en exiting the store.
? In other police news, a Fairfield man was charged with threatening, risk of injury to a minor and other charges after witnesses reported seeing him threaten a group of juveniles with a machete, according to police reports.
