The board has unanimously selected Jackie Shaw, a Briarcliff Manor resident, to serve the unexpired term of Kim Jeffrey. Jeffrey is resigning due to accepting a position in the Westchester County District Attorney's Office that bars her from being an elected official. Shaw will be officially appointed on Dec. 26.

Shaw was selected from a pool of 14 candidates. Supervisor Dana Levenberg said Shaw had the right mix of community involvement, management, and business experience. She has also served on the Recreation Advisory Board.

“I am honored to be the town board appointee for the council member position,” Shaw said. “I look forward to learning from and working with the town board to continue the great work they have been doing.”

In the private sector, Shaw did research and analysis for Koren Rogers Associates and later started her own interior decorating firm.

"We are confident that she will be an excellent addition to our board and a wonderful community advocate," Supervisor Dana Levenberg said.

A special election will be held in Nov.2018 to elect a candidate to fill the remaining three years of the term left open by Jeffrey’s departure.
