Dear Editor,

On November 7th, I will be casting my vote for Robert J. Outhouse for County Legislator for the 9th legislative district. Bob has spent the entirety of his life serving his community, including 38 years in the volunteer fire service and 23 years as a Westchester County police officer. He currently serves as the President of the Westchester County Volunteer Fireman's Association, and played a role in getting Albany to write a bill to cover cancer treatment for our wonderful volunteer firemen throughout the state, which is pending gubernatorial approval. I know Bob is a bipartisan man, which is crucial in a time when extreme factions from both parties have caused gridlock on almost every level of government. I am currently 20 years old and live in a union household, and plan on buying a home in Westchester, however I won't be able to do that unless county politicians abandon the petty party politics and actually focus on keeping Westchester affordable. Bob has laid out a plan to work with our County Executive to keep the tax levy flat, a measure his opponent has consistently voted against. Bob has also been adamantly involved in fighting for the residents of LD-9 in regards to the Indian Point Closure, which will ultimately lead to millions of dollars in lost tax revenue for parts of the district, including Peekskill and Cortlandt. Along with standing up for the common man and promising to fight for fair taxes, Bob has pledged that if elected, he will wage war against the opiod epidemic, which has devastated our county, by calling for a wider availability of Narcan to combat overdoses, while also offering to work with our other elected officials and local police to correctly dispose of pills.

We need accountability, fiscal responsibility, and leadership in government. Bob Outhouse is the change we need. Please join me in voting for him to keep Westchester affordable, in order for young adults such as myself to have a future in this great county
