Briarcliff Manor Announces People's Caucus Election Schedule

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. — The village of Briarcliff Manor recently announced the election process for this spring's People's Caucus election.

The election for Briarcliff Manor mayor and two trustees will take place on March 18. The winners of the election will serve two-year terms..

Other positions up for election are in the Caucus' Executive Committee. These positions are for one-year terms: Chair, vice chair, treasurer and secretary

Any U.S. citizen who has been a primary resident of the village for thirty days on election day is eligible to vote in the general election.

The village has scheduled an informational session for anyone interested in serving. The first is on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 8 p.m., at the Village Youth Center on 5 Van Lu Van Road, behind the Municipal Building.

Nominees for all positions will be announced on Wednesday, Jan. 14, during the nominating meeting of the People's Caucus at the Briarcliff Middle School Theatre. The meeting begins at 8 p.m.

There will be a 'Meet The Candidates' event on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 8:00 p.m., also at the Briarcliff Middle School Theater. Debates are expected, and the public can ask questions of the candidates.

Both the Jan. 14 and 22 meetings will be recorded and aired on Cablevision’s local public access channel.
