The town recently came to an agreement on the facility at 507 N. State Road with an IT company that will be "moving 30 to 35 employees to our community," Town Supervisor Susanne Donnelly said in an emailed update on the facility.
"They have requested to be a PILOT plan (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) and they fit the bill 100 percent," Donnelly said in the update. She also provided a link to a recent Town of Ossining presentation demonstrating the need for PILOT programs.
Town of Ossining officials previously attempted to sell the building for about $3.5 million in order to make up for a $3 million bond currently on the building. The building was recently appraised for $1.6 million and sold to the IT company for $1.475 million, according to Town of Ossining documents.
The IT group is also set to work in conjunction with the Ossining School District, according to the update from the Town of Ossining. The agreement calls for the group to give the school district a "block of 20 hours technical service time use toward consultation, infrastructure, integreation or network support." The group is also set to provide the district's students with internship opportunities and on-site learning experiences, according to the agreement.
Westchester County Police previously had several officers stationed at the building. Most recently, the facility was used to shoot several scenes of "The Following," featuring actor Kevin Bacon.
