Motorcyclist In Fatal Ossining Crash Was Driving Recklessly, Police Say

OSSINING, N. Y. --Ossining Police provided more information Wednesday on their investigation of an accident Sunday night between a motorcycle and a car on Route 9 in Ossining that resulted in the death of the motorcyclist.

The operator of the motorcycle, 34-year-old Francis Sierra of Norwalk, Conn., who suffered severe injuries, was transported to Westchester Medical Center, and later died.

Ossining Police said it received information at about 7 p.m. Sunday, that a motorcyclist, traveling at a high rate of speed, was entering its jurisdiction.

The motorcyclist was reportedly observed driving recklessly, placing pedestrians, other motorists, and himself in danger inside Croton Point Park as well as on Route 9, according to police.

Police from the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and Croton Police Department each unsuccessfully attempted to stop the motorcyclist.

Ossining Police observed the motorcycle on the ground In the area of 123 South Highland Ave., after it had apparently been involved in a serious collision with another motor vehicle.

The operator of the motor vehicle was attended to by EMS personnel but was not transported.

Ossining Police said its investigation into the accident is continuing.
