OSSINING, N.Y. -- Luis Blanco, the 62-year-old Yonkers resident who was found dead on Route 133 in Ossining in August was originally killed in Yonkers, police said.

Blanco sustained several stab wounds to his neck and torso and was shot in the head, police said, in an incident that occurred north of Yonkers Avenue.

Joaquin Recinos-Garcia, a 27-year-old Yonkers resident. was charged with second-degree murder. Recinos-Garcia allegedly owed Blanco $1300.

Recinos-Garcia was arraigned on Saturday and was remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail.

On Aug. 24, a nun from Maryknoll was jogging on Route 133 at the intersection of Tavano Road and Somerstown Road when she observed a deceased Blanco slightly off the roadway.

An autopsy later determined Blanco's death was a homicide.
