Friday The 13th Has Special Meaning For Ossining Police Chief

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Friday the 13th has been a good day for Ossining Police Chief Joseph Burton.

Some Police Officers are very superstitious. For instance, uttering the phrase, "It sure is quiet, today" is guaranteed to increase your workload ten fold. 

Friday the 13th has been especially good for Chief Burton would was hired with badge number 13, he is the 13th Chief of the Ossining Police Department and now, Friday the 13th of November, 2015, has been declared "Chief Joseph Burton Day in the Village of Ossining." 

Thursday, Nov. 12, the department attended the Ossining Lions Club award banquet where Burton was given the top award, the "Uplinger Award for Community Service." 

In honor of his accomplishments the Chief was given proclamations, certificates of appreciation, and various acknowledgements from village, town, county, and state leaders. 

Among those proclamations was one from Mayor Victoria Gearity and the Board of Trustees declaring today, "Chief Joseph Burton Day in the Village of Ossining," County Legislator Catherine Borgia also declared the day "Chief Joseph Burton Day in Westchester County."
