For the second time in a month, Montrose firefighters responded to a two-alarm blaze at the Springvale Apartments complex in Montrose.

The fire ran up the entire back wall of the three-story building on Monday, with heavy fire showing on two floors of the complex at 24 Springvale Road around 5:30 p.m., according to fire officials.

During entry into the building, firefighters found a large hole in the floor of a second-floor apartment, large enough for a person to fall through, the department said.

Crews were able to put out the fire quickly with assistance from Croton-on-Hudson, Buchanan, and Verplanck fire departments, along with Cortlandt EMS.

Information was not available if anyone was injured, if any residents were displaced, or the cause of the fire.

The first two-alarm fire took place on Nov. 8 and damaged one of the apartment complex's buildings.
