DPW Snow Plow Catches Fire During Snow Removal Efforts In Lake Mohegan

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - All hands were on deck in Lake Mohegan on Tuesday morning when a snow plow caught fire in Cortlandt near the Yorktown border.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, while clearing snow on Red Mill Road near Old Oregon Road, a plow working from the Town of Cortlandt Highway Department caught fire, prompting a response from Lake Mohegan firefighters. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was not immediately disclosed.

The front end of the truck was fully engulfed, with smoke billowing from inside the cab. Fire crews quickly had the flames knocked down and under control before beginning cleanup efforts. Keep following Daily Voice for additional details as they are released.
