Black Bear Sighted In Ossining

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Several Ossining residents reported seeing a black bear Monday, Ossining Police said.

The bear was spotted early Monday near Spring Street in Ossining, according to the Village of Ossining Police Department. No injuries or further sightings were reported Tuesday, police said. The department issued an alert on nixle.com Monday. 

"A small bear has been seen in the south end of the village," the alert read. "Please secure your garbage, pets and bird feeders at night."
