Calling hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main St., Eastchester.
A funeral Mass will follow Monday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 8 Carman Road, Scarsdale, where the popular doctor was a longtime member.
Salimbene, along with his wife Marie, were inside the home when the fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. Marie was able to make it out of the house with serious burns, but her husband, who was believed to be in the basement, was trapped.
Salimbene is also survived by seven children, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Salimbene's family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, according to the funeral home.
