Tormey leaves his wife of nearly 62 years, Carol Mixter Tormey, four children. many grandchildren and one great grandson. During his years in Briarcliff, he traveled often for his job in marketing training for IBM Americas /Far East but found time for golf, poker, woodworking, and sailing.
He was a founding member of the Briarcliff Manor Rotary Club, an activity which remained important to him for most of his life, and did fundraising for the Briarcliff Congregational Church.
