BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. - Mary A. Batiste of Briarcliff Manor, and formerly of Mount Vernon, died Jan. 28. She was 85.
Batiste was born May 17, 1928, to John and Jenny (nee Dalessandro) Ciarcia in Old Boston, Pa. She was an electronic assembler with Mitchell Electronics in Mount Vernon and later worked for Artuso Bakery in Thornwood for many years.
Batiste is survived by her children, Patricia (John) Packes of Hawthorne, and Andrew (Alyce) Batiste of Davie, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Joann Batiste of Danbury, Conn.; sister, Jean Fico of Yonkers; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William Batiste; son, William Batiste, Jr.; grandson, Stephen Batiste; two brothers; and a sister.
Calling hours are Friday, Jan. 31 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne. Interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
