Joseph A. Bracchitta, 81, Of Briarcliff Manor

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Joseph S. Bracchitta -- a Briarcliff Manor resident and formerly of North Tarrytown -- died on Tuesday, Feb. 2. He was 81.

He was born in North Tarrytown (now Sleepy Hollow) on Jan. 28, 1935, to Joseph and Lucy Parrino Bracchitta.

Bracchitta graduated from North Tarrytown High School. He served in the National Guard and played the clarinet in the 552nd Air Force Band.

He was the founder and owner of Sleepy Hollow Custom Kitchens. He was an avid golfer and had been a member of Knollwood Country Club for many years. Bracchitta was also a music lover and particularly liked classical music and big band jazz. He was also an avid Yankee fan.

Bracchitta is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Louise; sons Joseph of Connecticut and Kevin of Tarrytown; three grandchildren; and step-brother Frank Tumino.

He was predeceased by his step-brother, Ralph Tumino.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, at Coffey Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, at St. Theresa's Church, in Briarcliff. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
