Born Aug. 20, 1922 in Arcos, Montalegre, Portugal, he was the son of the late Ana Lamas.
He is survived by his daughters, Silvana Fernandes and her husband Joaquim of Portugal, Custodia Dias and her husband Manuel of Bridgeport, and his beloved grandchildren, Marc Fernandes of Portugal, and Ana Cristina Dias and Matthew Dias both of Bridgeport.
He also is survived by two brothers, Faustino Lamas and Carlos Lamas, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ana DaFonte Lamas, and his two sons, Julio and Jose Lamas.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Road, Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial.
Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home.
