Helen Palmer, 94, Of Briarcliff Manor, Art Teacher, Todd Elementary School

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. - Helen Palmer of Briarcliff Manor died Sept. 26. She was 94.

Palmer was a graduate of Pratt Institute and earned her Masters Degree in Education from Columbia University. Her professional career included commercial art, teaching art at Todd Elementary School in Briarcliff and working as an art therapist at Montrose VA Hospital. She was a member of All Saints' Episcopal Church in Briarcliff Manor and served on the vestry. She was also a member of the notorious Chowder and Marching Society specializing in nights of furious painting followed by epicurean feasting.

Palmer is survived by her children, Marcia, Marc and Theresa; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ted; brother, Henry; and sister, Elizabeth Zeil.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Waterbury and Kelly Funeral Home, 1300 Pleasantville Road Briarcliff Manor. The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at All Saints' Episcopal Church, Scarborough Road, Briarcliff Manor.
