BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Movies, concerts and rummage sales highlight the weekend events in Ossining and Briarcliff Manor.

Friday, April 27

The Ossining Public Library’s “Get Your GED” Program: 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Tutors are set to be available for free every Friday in the teen room. For more information, residents are asked to contact Robin Osborne at the Westchester Library System at (914) 231-3237 or rosborne@wlsmail.org.

Tech Workshop at the Library: 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. The Briarcliff Manor Public Library presents Working With Word Intermediate. Learn additional Word features including creating tables, adding images, headers and footers and more. Classes are 90 minutes. Registration is required, please call or email Shelley Glick. Computer Help at the Ossining Public Library: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free drop-in help with computers. Residents can learn how to navigate web pages and create documents in Microsoft programs. For more information, residents are asked to contact Cheryl at 941-2416 ext. 315.

Sandy Galef Screening “Gasland”: 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Assembly member Sandy Galef (D-Ossining) presents her film “Gasland” at the Ossining Public Library’s Budarz Theater. The free film showing focuses on the debate on hydrofracking.

Friday Night at the Movies "The Muppets": 7 p.m. – 12 a.m. Come to the Briarcliff Manor Public Library to watch this newly released DVD movie on the big screen. Light refreshments will be served. Registration recommended: call 941-7072 or email sglick@wlsmail.org.

Saturday, April 28

Children’s Book Day/Dia Del Nino: 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.  Dia del Nino is a celebration of children and Children's Book Day with the renowned children's storyteller, singer and writer Felix Pitre. Ossining Public Library.

Story time and Crafts: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Story time for 2 to 6 year olds with caregivers at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library. Registration is requested.

Rummage Sale at Briarcliff Congregational Church: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 30 South State Road. The annual sale includes clothes, china, collectibles, jewelry, toys, baby items, books, furniture, appliances, sporting goods and more. Lunch served and bake sale donations accepted. For more information call (914) 941-4368.

The Ossining Public Library’s Photography Class: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Residents can learn various photography techniques as a part of this weekly class. To register prior to the class, residents are asked to contact Director Jim Farrell at 941-2416 ext. 333.

Ossining Prescription Take Back Day: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Prescription drugs are being misused and abused at alarming rates throughout the United States. As part of the effort to address this problem, Ossining will participate in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s 4th National Prescription Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 28, and collect potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs at the Ossining Village Police Department, 88 Spring St., beginning at 10 a.m.

Sunday, April 29

All Seasons Chamber Players Concert at the Library: 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. All Seasons Chamber Players will return to the Budarz Theater stage, sponsored by the Ossining Public Library. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. Free. All are welcome to attend.

Hudson Bells 50th Anniversary Concert: 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. The Hudson Bells is a women's choral group, singing three and four part harmony both a capella and with piano accompaniment. Clearview School in Briarcliff Manor.
