Thief Breaks into Cars, Leaves Bra Behind

OSSINING, N.Y. – Five vehicles parked at a Snowden Avenue apartment complex were broken into overnight from Sunday to Monday, police said. Small electronics were stolen from the cars and in one case the instruder left a bra behind.

Items taken include a cell phone, iPod, Canon digital camera, $60 in cash, a GPS, a portable battery charger and a DVD player. Fuse box covers were removed inside several of the cars. A digital camera was recovered in a wooded area near the parking lot at 35 Snowden Ave.

Some cars were entered but had no items taken, police said.

William Reynolds, a resident of 35 Snowden Ave. said that the items in his glove compartment were all over his front seat on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m., and his car's fuse box had been disengaged.

"The car was locked. We don't know how they got in, but they got in," Reynolds said.

The intruder also left a bra in the glove compartment, Reynolds added.

Also in Ossining:

Ossining police officers took custody of Aaron Reyes, 22, of Emwilton Place, who was arrested by Peekskill police on a bench warrant issued by an Ossining court. Reyes was returned to Ossining where he awaits arraignment on Tuesday in Ossining Town Court.
